Dramamama was formed in 2008 with the intention to bring some rock & roll into the heavily pop oriented Estonian music scene. Founded by singer Mikk Tammepõld and guitarist Laur Joamets, their music draws heavily from classic 1960s–70s blues rock and rock'n'roll. Dramamama has released four studio albums: Dramamama (2009), VIP (2012), Uphill Battle (2020) and Doomsday Tango (2022). All four albums received nominations at the Estonian Music Awards. After the band's guitarist Laur Joamets moved to the United States in 2013 to play in the Grammy-winning Sturgill Simpson’s band (also in Drivin N Cryin, LORE), Dramamama was on hiatus mode for a while but then recorded an album Uphill Battle in Nashville and returned to the stages to play live music with a new lineup: Mikk Tammepõld (vocals), Jörgen Pakkas (guitar), Viljar Norman (bass), Kristjan Mängel (drums). Dramamama and Joamets are now in a long distance relationship, he still collaborates as a session player on bands new material and joins them on stage whenever possible.
